From a Small Kitchen to a
Community Icon

It all began in 1994 when Mike and Sandra Rosso opened the doors of Green Lantern Pizza on Harper Avenue with a dream: to make the kind of pizza that brings families together. Armed with a cherished family recipe, a second-hand oven, and an unshakeable passion for quality, they served their first slice to the neighbors of St Clair Shores.

Word spread fast. Within months, lines stretched out the door. The community embraced Green Lantern as their own, celebrating birthdays, graduations, game nights, and quiet Tuesday dinners under our familiar green glow. Three decades later, that same spirit drives everything we do.

Today, we still hand-toss every dough ball, source our ingredients locally whenever possible, and greet every guest like a regular — because most of them are. We've served three generations of the same families, and we couldn't be more proud of that.

30 Years in the Making

A look back at the milestones that shaped who we are today.

1994

The Doors Open

Mike and Sandra Rosso open the original Green Lantern Pizza on Harper Avenue with just four tables, a dream, and a family recipe passed down from grandma Rosso in Naples, Italy.

1999

First "Best Pizza" Award

Green Lantern wins its first "Best Pizza in St Clair Shores" award from the local Chamber of Commerce, putting us firmly on the map as the neighborhood's go-to spot.

2005

Expanding Our Space

Due to growing demand, we expanded the dining room — doubling our seating capacity and adding a dedicated take-out window, making it easier than ever for families to enjoy our pizza at home.

2012

Delivery Service Launched

We launched our own delivery fleet, bringing the Green Lantern experience directly to doorsteps across St Clair Shores and surrounding neighborhoods for the first time.

2018

Farm-to-Table Commitment

We formalized our local sourcing program, partnering with Michigan farms for seasonal produce and Michigan-made cheeses, deepening our roots in the community we love.

2024

30th Anniversary & Beyond

We celebrate 30 incredible years with our community — over half a million pizzas served, three generations of loyal customers, and a brand-new online ordering system to serve you even better.

Mike Rosso

The visionary behind Green Lantern's legendary crust. Mike still hand-tosses dough every morning before the restaurant opens, keeping the tradition alive.

Sandra Rosso

Sandra's warmth and attention to detail set the tone for the entire team. She oversees operations, community partnerships, and makes sure every guest feels at home.

Danny Rosso

Mike and Sandra's son grew up in this kitchen and trained in culinary school before returning to elevate the menu with creative seasonal specials while honoring family classics.

Maria Gutierrez

With 12 years at Green Lantern, Maria knows every regular by name. Her infectious energy and commitment to hospitality make every dining experience memorable.
